Seminars, laboratory and research activities, interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary training
Seminars will be held by researchers and professors from national and international research facilities and universities with high scientific qualifications.
It is planned to organize language improvement activities in agreement with the other doctorates of the University. All PhD students will still be encouraged to take exams that allow them to obtain internationally recognized certificates also by taking advantage of the ROSETTA STONE platform, made available to the University. In this regard, knowledge of the English language, which is fundamental for research and technical-scientific study activities at an international level, is specifically assessed during the entrance exam. PhD students will also be able to carry out research and in-depth studies on bibliographic sources in English, to express themselves in international conferences and to write reports and technical-scientific works in English.
The activities involve the acquisition of computer skills related to research, especially software (databases; indexing programs; content analysis programs; statistical processing programs – MATLAB, SPSS; image processing programs – Indesign Adobe; X press). It is planned to organize, in agreement with the other doctorates of the University, computer improvement activities (courses and/or seminars) on operating systems, programming also with advanced/integrated languages of scientific programming. PhD students will also have the opportunity to participate in seminars and refresher/training courses organized by companies supplying scientific equipment and IT support to research activities.
In agreement with the other doctorates of the University, the organization of training activities in the field of research management and knowledge of European and international research systems, as well as entrepreneurial development, is envisaged, also with the participation of highly qualified external professors (courses and/or seminars), and/or making use of the skills present within the University.
PhD students will also be involved in research projects by sharing methodologies, objectives, results and methods of access to national and international funding (PRIN; FIRB; HORIZON, PON) and the methods of compilation of projects and reporting.
Exploitation of research results and intellectual property: The doctoral course promotes training activities on the exploitation of research results and intellectual property, also with the participation of external professors (courses and/or seminars). PhD students will be stimulated to exploit the results of their research in the form of presentations in seminars, workshops, national and international congresses and publications in international journals.
