Mobility and International

The international attractiveness of the PhD in Engineering is well highlighted by the number and origin of candidates for the calls for admission: for the 38th cycle out of 39 candidates 24 were foreigners from 6 non-European countries, for the 39th cycle out of 66 applications 49 were foreigners from 14 non-European countries, for the 40th cycle out of 74 applications,   43 foreigners from 13 non-European countries, finally for the 41st cycle out of 120 applications, 91 were foreigners from 19 non-European countries

The PhD Programme pursues mobility and internationalisation objectives also through the exchange of PhD students with other Italian or foreign universities. The research topics assigned to the PhD students are, in fact, part of various national and international collaborations involving different members of the teaching staff. In this way, the training process of doctoral students can be easily enriched by the scientific expertise of external experts from both public and private Italian and foreign research structures. The period of study abroad is usually planned starting from the second year of the PhD program to allow the PhD student to deepen or conclude his or her research/training activity after having had time to acquire a good command of the topics related to his or her research topic and also sufficient scientific autonomy to deal with international research and development contexts.

The PhD in Engineering supports and promotes mobility opportunities, also through the ERASMUS calls
